It can be hard when the person you love can't love you back. If your friend is straight and you are gay, it is a long shot that he can ever return your love in the way you would like. Since he can't love you back in that way, it may not be worth it share your feelings with him, as this may introduce some awkwardness into your relationship, and possibly even push your friend away. Spend some time going out with other people and making new friendships and new relationships. Give yourself the opportunity to meet somebody who can give you the love deserve. I know this is easier said than done, but unless you feel your friend is actually gay, you should probably just move on.
Best of luck,
