IUD Risks

I am interested in the risks of the IUD. I am a 22 year old w/o children and am about ot be married. I would like to use some form of non-chemical birth-control that is effective and more practical than condoms.

I was told by my university health center doctor that the "new IUD" does not have the risks listed below. I want to know if this is true. She said that the old IUD could rip the uterine lining, resulting in inability to become pregnant. THe new model does not carry this risk.

The info listed below was found on your website, and is cited from a 1998 reference. Could this mean that the risks listed below are solely connected to the older IUD model, and not to the newer one? Please inform me.
