How do I overcome derealization? I feel as though I am losing my mind and I wake up every single morning with panic attacks. I'm currently on prozac.

Sorry to hear about your panic attacks. I know how much stress and anxiety they can cause and what a disturbance they can be in your life. Derealization is a common symptom of panic disorder. The good news is that panic disorder is one of the most easily treated anxiety disorders. What you need to do is find a psychologist who uses a cognitive behavioral therapy approach to treatment. Regular talk therapy is helpful for talking through other life issues, but anxiety disorders are best treated via behavioral techniques. These treatments are scientific and effective. Make sure to ask any potential therapists if they have experience with anxiety disorders and how they would approach treatment.

Until you can find a good therapist, I would recommend learning some breathing techniques to help calm you when you are feeling panicked or out of sorts. There are many good websites on the Internet with breathing techniques for relaxation. On such is this one:
